EVENT DESCRIPTIONS

Lectures

Shiva - Shakti: The Spiritual View on Masculinity and Femininity

In a world in which the values of masculinity and femininity are being confused and forgotten, the Tantric tradition can bring about a very powerful regeneration of relationships and gender identity. Swami Vivekananda explores the essential features of the realms of Shiva (or Vira - the supreme masculine ideal) and Shakti (ultimate femininity) in a lecture intended to help those living in modern society.

What Is Tantra? Sacred Sexuality as a Modern Spiritual Practice

The Tantric path and Tantric sexuality are outlined and discussed as elements of elevated spiritual practice, as well as along their various aspects of healing, energizing, sexual therapy, and the cultivation of the sexual energy and orgasmic state. Discover the transformational potential of this ancient, sacred approach to sexuality.

Yoga in Daily Life

Yoga is considered by many people to be either a form of gymnastics found in fitness clubs or a mystical tradition belonging to gurus and spiritual aspirants in ashrams or on faraway mountaintops.... But the truth of it is that as one becomes a yogi, the abilities and skills one acquires in Yoga also prove to be invaluable gifts in daily life. Swami Vivekananda, a living exponent of Tantric Yoga, gives us a brilliant survey of how Yoga can positively impact many relevant aspects of our lives and how it can be practically used by the average person.

Workshops

Art of Dying

This workshop could be the first in the world to address a very important gap in modern times: the spiritual preparation for death, one of life’s greatest passages.

Explore the Tibetan Bardo Thodol rites and training. Lectures, initiations, meditations, practice, and Hatha Yoga will be integrated into this workshop, which aims to help participants both prepare for their own deaths and help others toward a spiritual experience of this momentous life passage.

Today, especially with the secularization of daily life, we are witnessing an appalling carelessness about the phenomenon of death, as well as a deep spiritual ignorance about its meaning, which is illustrated most often by the cloud of taboo and embarrassment surrounding the subject. The contrast between our great attention to birth – a new child benefiting from both the assistance of its mother and qualified medical personnel or midwives in an air of celebration – and our cold, medical treatment of the dying is reason enough to highlight the need for this workshop. The Art of Dying intends to change this focus, not only to teach an understanding of the stages and process of death using the Bardo Thodol, the centuries-practiced Tibetan manual of dying, but also to provide training to pass to the other side in a spiritual manner and to help others go through this process.

Astrology in Tantric Yoga

For years, Swami Vivekananda and Agama Yoga have taught Tantric and Yogic Astrology to the school's advanced students through a series of lectures rooted in the Kundalini Program stage of our curriculum. Swami Vivekananda intends these teachings to be very practical, with participants drawing several horoscopes daily, so that at the end of the workshop all graduates will be able to use this fascinating esoteric science in their daily lives and spiritual quest.

Astrological and planetary influences are explained in a Yogic way, from the standpoint of the seven chakras, five bodies (koshas), five basic elements, and other such technical concepts from Tantric spirituality. Therefore, although there are no prerequisites for attending this workshop, familiarity with the concepts from the Agama First Level Intensive will definitely help and support one's understanding of the subject matter.

This workshop will offer all basics for anyone wishing to practice Astrology:

  • natal charts

  • basic Astrology

  • signs

  • domification (houses)

  • planetary influences and aspects

  • karma and Astrology

  • predictive Astrology (transits, progressions)

  • relationship Astrology (synastries, compatibilities)

  • horary Astrology (and connections with Svara Yoga)

  • geo-astrology

  • and other thrilling subjects

At the same time we hope that by integration of the Yogic, Tantric, metaphysical, and esoteric aspects that define our Agama style, this education will go well beyond those mentioned and will give all participants ways to understand themselves and their life goals much better using these potent instruments for self-transformation.

It is necessary to bring your own notebook to the workshop. In addition, a laptop may also prove very useful for comparing human readings to the computer-generated data.
