TIFFANY NICHOLSON-SMITH

Tiffany, a Canadian-born Leo, has a passion and love for community, service, and teaching.

Since childhood she has always had an avid interest and involvement in volunteer service work, activism, social change, and a betterment of life for all. At the same time, she was an active athlete, with a passion for almost all sports, dance, and body awareness techniques. The call to serve others along with her background in athletics resulted in various leadership and teaching positions, however she never quite felt "at home" and was missing a recognition of who or what she was truly working for.

Her first glimpses of the divine creator came through her work with organic farming and spiritual ecology. Through this contact with the beloved Mother Earth it became difficult for her to deny the existence and beauty of the Absolute pouring through all of life. Her initial recognition of life as One was based mostly upon a belief in animism and shamanism, which later laid the foundation for deeper spiritual inquiry and growth as she came into contact with the teachings of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Yoga....

She was "found" by the Agama branch of Trika in Rishikesh in early 2007, while she was on a weekend break from her volunteer work at a nearby farm in the foothills of the Himalayas. Little did she know that one weekend would turn into a week and then a month before she would return to the farm. With these teachings in hand and a new fresh approach to all of life and her work, she found the farm to be a perfect place for self-reflection, spiritual study, and personal practice... and this is when the journey really began.

In June 2008 she participated in the Agama Teacher Training Course and immediately upon graduating she began to teach intensively. For Tiffany there is nothing that brings her closer to the Divine than this gift of teaching. She feels so appreciative to have been blessed with these teachings, and so humbled to have the opportunity to share them with others. And now she truly feels at home....
