SALIMA BENTEBIBEL

Born in France, as a precocious 14-year-old Scorpio Salima had an amazing realization: “God, the Supreme Consciousness, is waiting for me to be united with him”! A dream of an angel confirmed it all. Since then, her love and longing for that union began to grow stronger and stronger.

At that time, she thought that God could be understood and found in science. To some extent, this is the case, she felt, and so she proceeded through a laborious academic training. She completed her Masters’ degree in molecular biology in 1999, followed by her Ph.D. in biotechnology in 2003. After her studies, she worked as a manager in regulatory affairs for a pharmaceutical company. Deep in her heart, she always kept that connection with and longing for the Supreme, and she also knew that the day would come for her to seek Him in more depth and with full dedication.

During all her years of university, she had explored spiritual practices such as Sufism, Buddhism, Tai Chi, and some Yoga. She had until then lived in cities, and the Yoga offered was more like gymnastics. It was good but not complete, and she knew something was missing.

When she turned 30 years old, Salima made the decision to go and seek seriously for spiritual answers. She made all the arrangements to take care of her worldly belongings and started her journey…. She had always known that turning 30 would bring something amazing. Indeed, what she was waiting for happened. Swami Vivekananda came to present the Metaphysical Weekend Workshop in her area, an event the Universe pointed her toward by creating a big storm that grounded her plane and canceled her flight. Disappointed at this setback so soon on her journey, she spent the night in a hotel where she met the person organizing the event, and ended up attending all the workshops being presented. Her connection with Swami Vivekananda’s engineering background and perspective on spirituality was so great that she decided to go to Thailand to check out the First Month Intensive. She ended up staying five months… and knew that she had found what she was looking for in Agama.

Salima believes Agama is a gemstone to start one’s spiritual awakening and journey, and she is very grateful to Swami Vivekananda for his teachings, enthusiasm, and openness. She has been studying with Agama since 2005 and teaching since 2007. It is with humbleness that she continues on the path of fulfilling her spiritual realization.
