ROWEN MARKS

Rowen, a Capricorn, was born in the United States on 5 January, 1982. She comes from an open-minded family and was raised on love and respect for the individual.

 

After reading Siddhartha at the age of 13, she was inspired on the path of inner peace, wisdom, and self-knowledge. Throughout her university years, she longed for more direct spiritual experience, and after graduating she traveled to Asia to study Yoga, Buddhism, and meditation. She came to Agama Yoga in April, 2005, discovering a system of practice and a template for viewing reality which both complemented and challenged her natural disposition.

She loves the Agama Yoga practice and the life-affirming teachings of Tantra. She returned to Thailand to complete the Agama Teacher Training Course in 2007, and began teaching on Koh Phangan in September, 2007.

She has been most inspired by the Hridaya (Revelation of the Spiritual Heart) Retreats with Claudiu Trandafir, Tantric practice, and the beautiful men and women she has met at Agama and around the world. Her studies and practice have brought her closer to her own heart, through which she feels more deeply the interconnectedness of all things, the mystery of life, and God.

She currently resides in the United States, where she is working, gaining perspective, and feeling humbled and humored by the breadth of joy and challenges that life offers. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, she can be found teaching in India or Thailand.
