RONELA VAINIO

Ronela Vainio was born in Finland in 1978. As a teenager, she was curious about Yoga and other Eastern spiritual traditions, although at that time she did not go deeply into it. Later, living and traveling in India in 1999 - 2000, she met Swami Vivekananda in Rishikesh, which became a major turning point in her life.

She was amazed at Swami’s power and wisdom. All the teachings she received made so much sense and suddenly the missing pieces of the puzzle of her understanding of life came together and formed a beautiful picture: A Pathway to God. Endless wanderings came to an end, and life opened up with a new light and a meaning to truth.

Upon returning to Finland that year, Ronela continued Yoga under the guidance of Swami Mahalayananda (Vivekananda’s old student from Denmark, who now also had become a Swami and had a Yoga center in Finland). Meanwhile, she also immersed herself in her drama education and theater studies (together with her knowledge of Yoga, her dream was to unite the two: art and spirituality, thus being able to create True Art), and she studied Comparative Religion at the Open University of Helsinki, an interest she had held since she was quite young.

In the autumn of 2002 Ronela, a Cancer, decided to quit her studies, because each day she longed increasingly to dedicate more time to her Yoga practice/ spirituality and to return to Swami’s teachings in India. Thus, she went back to Rishikesh and from there to Thailand, where she has been since. She began teaching in the spring of 2004.

She is fascinated by the beauty of the Ten Cosmic Powers, the Dasa Mahavidyas, and by the dynamism and power of Kundalini Yoga.
