MAUREEN SALKELD

Maureen has been fascinated with Yoga practice, philosophy, and spirituality for most of her life, and was teaching Kripalu-style Yoga in the ’80s. With a Bachelors in World Religions and Masters’ degree in Clinical Psychology, she also worked as a marriage and family therapist for many years, and later traveled around the world, teaching English with her husband, Andrew.

Now with the Teacher Training Course (2007) behind her and Swami Vivekananda supporting her, Maureen brings Agama Yoga to the national capital region of Canada. She lives and teaches in Wakefield, a small scenic village in West Quebec just 25 minutes from Ottawa, holding classes in various locations – a beautiful local Yoga studio called La Grange, at the Wakefield Recreation Centre, in the two Wakefield churches, and on the Wakefield covered bridge (a significant local attraction) in the summer. This is a delightful experience, suspended between heaven and earth!

Maureen is in a (very) long-term relationship. She and Andrew have three children and five grandchildren. Maureen loves flowers and spends many happy hours in her beautiful garden when she’s not teaching Yoga or walking in the Gatineau Hills.

You may contact Maureen at (819) 459-4420 or at agamacanada@hotmail.com.
