MANU MOUGENOT |
Manu, a Gemini born in 1973 in Belgium, was blessed with a Yoga teacher for a mother. At the age of 18, he began to develop an interest in Yoga and meditation, and in parallel with Philosophy studies at his university in Brussels, he grew progressively more and more fascinated with these fields of study. While in Rishikesh, India, in 2001, he first met Swami Vivekananda and realized that Agama Yoga was exactly what he'd been looking for. Coming from a background of familiarity with different styles of Yoga, he was amazed with the knowledge and techniques available in the First Month Intensive Course alone. He's now in the 4th program of the course (beyond the 42nd month of study) and continues to develop his understanding of the spiritual field (exploring Indian and Tibetan Tantra, satsang, etc.). Manu most loves the teachings of Kashmir Shaivism and the techniques of Kundalini Yoga. Prior to joining the Agama teaching staff in the 2003 season, Manu had taught as a certified Sivananda instructor. In 2005 and 2006, he managed the first two Agama Teacher Training Course programs. He has taught in Thailand as well as in Europe, and he's the co-founder along with Monika of the new Agama branch located in Dharamsala, India. |
