KATHARINA ARPAGAUS

Katharina, a Cancerian, was born in Switzerland in 1975. As a child she spent many nights in prayer and, by the time she was 12, she had become a vegetarian and environmental activist. She spent a lot of time in nature, where she felt closest to the divine, and also discovered her interests in shamanism, parapsychology, and natural healing.

While studying at university, she started to practice Iyengar Yoga and was amazed at the calmness it brought into her life. As a career counselor and psychologist, she realized the limitations of the Western approach to the inner world, and in 2003 she decided to set off for India to deepen her knowledge of Buddhism and Yoga.

In 2005, she first joined courses at Agama Yoga in Thailand and, after several years of study, became a teacher in 2008. She loves the wide range of different methods at Agama and the profound knowledge of Swami Vivekananda, and she considers it a great gift to live on a wonderful tropical island in this unique spiritual community.
