Born on 5 January 1968 in Romania, Angelus moved to Germany at the age of 7. He later studied at university for his teaching certification in sports, German language, and religious education.

Since he was a schoolboy, Angelus has been captivated by fundamental questions concerning existence and the purpose of this life. In 1999, he met Swami Vivekananda in Rishikesh, India, and was very impressed by the elaborate, intelligent teachings of Agama and Swami's charismatic nature.

Angelus practiced faithfully all the techniques of this Yoga system, and soon experienced the elevated states of consciousness that assured him this was the right spiritual path for him. A feeling like "coming home" arose within him.

He has also been deeply affected by the teachings of South Indian saint Ramana Maharshi, as well as the energy of Arunachala, the site of his ashram home in Tamil Nadu. His study of the Bhagavad-Gita and Hatha Yoga Pradipika has deepened his Yoga practice.

"What you need to learn the most you should teach" – this sentiment has inspired him to teach from the bottom of his heart. He enjoys most the practices of Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and Tantra Yoga.
