Agama Yoga’s teachings on Kashmiri Shaivism are already somewhat legendary among those attending our courses, irrespective of whether they are fine connoisseurs or total beginners in this lineage of teachings. Kashmiri Shaivism is considered today’s highest, most exclusive, and most transcendent Yoga, wherein the first steps are already advanced. It represents a fundamental outlook on the Universe, allowing students to understand the true nature of Agama’s Tantric tradition. In the introductory workshop, Swami Vivekananda provides extensive theoretical explanation as well as practical initiations in a rare and accessible presentation of Kashmiri Shaivism – core teachings which actually form the foundation of all subsequent teachings of Agama Yoga.
While the workshop has been renowned for years now as a constant source of spiritual enlightenment and inspiration for attendees, those brought into contact with these amazing teachings naturally wish to experience them deeply and intensely. Responding to this general request, Agama Yoga is pleased to announce that in 2012, as an immediate continuation of the introductory workshop, there will be a deepening five-day meditation retreat with Swami Vivekananda, who thoroughly understands these teachings and is one of the few remaining experts in this system. In a classical silent meditation retreat format, the Shaivist teachings and methods will be practically explored and applied in an intensive, supportive atmosphere in which the participant can immerse himself or herself fully.
Techniques of Kashmirian Yoga will exclusively be taught and practiced. These esoteric meditation methods of the Shaivas include the original Tantric Vipassana, Shudavikalpa methods, use of mentalization and emotions (bhavana), the fundamental monistic meditation (“I am”), the mandala of the trident, and others not distinctly spelled out here. This lineage, representing one of the world’s spiritual treasures, casts an incredible spiritual resonance with sahasrara, the crown chakra. This totally non-dualistic philosophy proposes a very quick spiritual evolution for the aspirant, and differentiates many states of higher consciousness and samadhi, or void. Join us for this deep practical journey into the supremely elevated Kashmiri Shaivist teachings….
Prior participation in the Introduction to Kashmiri Shaivism Workshop is a mandatory prerequisite for this five-day silent retreat.
