In keeping with our trend of offering retreats based in the rich and diversified traditions of Yoga and Tantra in general, Agama Yoga introduces a new retreat delving into a different exploration of the Tantric pathways leading to the recognition in ourselves and in the Universe of the divine spiritual reality.

During this 10-day silent retreat, we will explore the play and polarity of Shiva and Shakti through the agency of symbolic and energetic work from Right Hand Tantra, based on these two main aspects of our being. We will work on harmonizing and increasing the Shakti, the energy-knowledge side, commonly connected either with Anahata Chakra or Muladhara Chakra and the rising of Kundalini Shakti, and we’ll integrate ourselves more and more in recognizing and identifying the pure awareness, the witness consciousness, the Siva aspect, associated with the Crown, Sahasrara Chakra; learning to recognize in ourselves this eternal play of energy and consciousness and the essential unity of the two. Our approach will include precise and efficient yogic tools, techniques and knowledge belonging to the Agama Yoga system and the amazing power of Right Hand Tantric practice issued from the Indian tradition. The following techniques will be supporting our exploration during this retreat:

  • Mantra: each student will be initiated in a long mantra and the use of Japa meditation according to the Tantric Indian tradition.

  • Technique of pure awareness meditation issued from Vedanta and Tantra.

  • Music meditation mostly focused on the Heart and the Crown.

  • Bodily techniques including Hatha Yoga, the retreat will be the occasion of some classical Asana classes in the Agama style and also the introduction of some additional techniques to open the Heart and activate Shakti-Spanda.

  • Pranayama (breathing exercises).

  • Right Hand ritual to support the mantra sadhana: Yagna (fire ceremony), use of Yantra.

This retreat will be held by Manu, senior teacher of Agama (level 5 teacher and co-founder of the Agama Yoga branch in Dharamsala, India.) While continuously growing in his understanding of the Agama system, he also opened his practice and interest in the past 6 years to the more ritual aspects of Tantra issued from the ‘right hand’ path.
