STUDENT ASSEMBLY |
New forum invites student input to Agama policies and administration Agama Yoga is very pleased to announce the creation of an elected representative Student Assembly to give input on the regulation and improvement of student life at Agama. The group will review and comment on policies, research alternative approaches to issues facing the school and its students, make administrative suggestions, survey and report to students at each class level, etc. The Assembly will have complete autonomy in its structure and style of operations, and will select a Board of three ambassadors who will meet regularly with the Agama Council, the general manager’s four-member advisory panel responsible since 2007 for leadership on all administrative issues. The two groups, Board and Council, will meet a minimum of once per month. Once per quarter, the Council will meet with the entire Assembly in an open discussion forum. At this time, the Assembly is forming its foundations and accepting input from students and teachers both. Several students and teachers have stepped forward to help spearhead and organize this initiative. They are doing the grassroots networking and investigation necessary to start the project on good footing. If you wish to send input to this group, please email: Officially, the Assembly’s grand kickoff will take place in January, 2009, in conjunction with the start of the new season. |
