AGAMA YOGA SEPTEMBER 2011 NEWSLETTER

‘When you eventually see through the veils to how things really are,

you will keep saying again and again, “This is certainly not like we thought it was!”’

-- Rumi --

Dear Agama Yoga community!

The main season 2011 has already ended and we have already started the low season with our amazing teachers Adam, Ivo, Harry and Tonya, who will now be the main teachers until January.

They are helped by some of the TTC graduates of the Summer TTC, which ended very successfully on August 13th with twenty new Agama Yoga teachers emerging, ready to spread the teachings of Agama to the great wide world. We wish them all the best on their spiritual path! If you would like to become an Agama Yoga teacher yourself, or if you know of someone who could be interested, we are currently accepting applications for our 2012 TTC’s.

Since the last newsletter we had some very successful workshops, like Swami’sKashmiri Shaivism’ and Dr. Mihaiela Pentiuc’sNaturopathic and Yogic Healing’. Both workshops had a lot of participants and the feedback was very positive throughout.

Khushru and Laura led our already famous ‘Tantra 1’ workshop in August. Including the TTC, they had about 60 students, willing to learn more about the sexual aspects of Tantric Yoga. Soon we will end this workshop season with ‘Tantra 2’, from September 12-16, led by Khushru and Justine! If you have done ‘Tantra 1’ previously, you don’t want to miss this exciting follow-up workshop.

In July, Sahaja finished this Hridaya season with an ‘Advanced Hridaya Retreat’, which saw 34 participants sitting through the 17 days of this long retreat. As always, participants of this retreat emerged blissful and with their hearts wide open. We will only offer two Hridaya retreats in 2012, in June and July, so be sure to reserve early enough.

Heidrun had a much smaller group for the ‘Third Eye Retreat’, but that didn’t diminish the great atmosphere during this retreat and all participants were very pleased with what they learned about ‘Ajna Chakra’, the third eye. We will offer this retreat again next season with Moses in February and we hope that it will have a lot more participants during the main season.

Upcoming Workshops and Retreats!

Next month, from September 18-27, Dr. Mihaiela Pentiuc will lead the ‘Crown Chakra Retreat’, for everybody interested in working on their 7th Chakra - ‘Sahasrara’. This is a very rare opportunity to get this Chakra activated in a 10-day retreat!

In December (7-12) Gwenda will offer for the first time the ‘Sacred Indian Dance’ workshop. Be sure to sign up early enough for this wonderful opportunity to learn Indian Dance outside of India, as there are only limited spaces available!

Another rare opportunity these days comes up when Swami will personally lead the ‘Tantra 1’ workshop, from December 14-18. As he has taught this workshop so many times already, he mostly leaves those workshops to advanced teachers of Agama Yoga, but decided to do this one himself again. If you want to hear this knowledge from the source, be sure to sign up. This is also a great opportunity to repeat this workshop, if the last time was already a long time ago.

As already announced in our last newsletter, 2012 will have a lot of exciting new workshops and retreats, and we are very much looking forward to new offerings, like Manu’sConsciousness\Bliss’, Michael’sSerpent Power’, Swami’s ‘Kashmiri Shaivism’ (first time on Koh Phangan!) and Agama’s very own ‘Agama Style’ retreats!

International Teaching Tours

Also already announced in the last newsletters, Swami Vivekananda and Sahajananda will be touring Canada and the United States in September and October, offering workshops and retreats. Swami will offer six workshops in four Canadian cities, and one also in Hawaii. Sahajananda will hold retreats in five Canadian locations, plus Scotland, Switzerland, and Romania on his return to Europe. Make sure to sign up for these opportunities when you are in the area!

Parade

On July 28th, we had the great opportunity to represent Agama Yoga at a local parade at Thong Sala, as the local Thai school at the nearby monastery invited us to participate. We had a lot of fun and the name ‘Agama Yoga’ is now known in the entire community of Koh Phangan.

Construction

Those of you who were here at the end of the season have already seen the beginning of the construction of a new registration office and a new two-storey administration office on Srithanu campus. We hope that these buildings will improve the administration of Agama Yoga even more.

Construction is going very well and in a few weeks we should see the two buildings in full glory.

Yogesh has worked very hard this whole season to protect our Srithanu campus from flooding in the low-season and I feel safe to say that we have the best drainage system on the island. He also oversaw a lot of land-movements on the property and all our yoga halls are now also in the best shape possible.

The only yoga hall that needs renovation will be the Blue Hall. This hall will get a new floor and a new roof during the low season.

Finale

As you can see, Agama Yoga is also busy during the low season and we will do our best also during this more quiet time, to make your stay here with us in the next season even more pleasurable and comfortable, so that you can fully focus on your spiritual practise.

As it looks, we have filled almost all of our positions for 2012, but if you feel really inspired to support Agama Yoga in the next season, please write your application to gm@agamayoga.com. A position that we are always looking for would be a helper for Yogesh, preferably a handy-man who knows about electricity work and plumbing!

For today we remain with our best wishes,

Love and blessings,

Rainer Gasser
