Introduction

HEALING CENTER

Swami Vivekananda Saraswati has long wished for the opportunity to design and create a yogic and alternative healing facility. In the following interview he describes his hopes with regard to this project.

When did you first conceive this idea?
In 2001, in response to learning some additional methods of healing from a Yoga guru in Rishikesh, I conceived the idea, and developed it further later on based on talks with some saddhus in Badrinath and Kedarnath.

What does this therapy center mean to you?
I envision this as being a beneficial project in conjunction with Agama’s larger plans to make Yoga more and more accessible to people. Educationally, we wish for Agama to be a high-quality, professional Yoga university. Hand in hand with this, we have been researching yogic and alternative healing methods and their impact on various people, various health conditions.

I would like to create a place where we could aim to heal severe diseases and almost any form of metabolic chronic disease. I know we have a wealth of information that is simply getting lost, staying unemployed, such that we cannot help people more efficiently. This is the motivation.

Is anyone doing this anywhere?
Not in this way. I think this would be unique in the world. It contains elements that are either forgotten or haven't been synchronized. For example, I learned a form of natural healing from a monk in Romania, and mixed with Ayurveda, mixed with tantric healing – this would be dynamite.

What do you visualize this center containing?
With the exception of structural damage like missing organs, broken limbs, anatomical malformation, and other such conditions, I see this as being a place to heal every disease. I think it should have everything from a Yoga hall to a hall for relaxation and music therapy, a room for color therapy; it should have a sauna, steam bath, and massage room. It should have a parapsychological laboratory, where we can use radionic and electronic methods, and it should have its own herbal laboratory and gardens. I insist especially on the radionic, pyramid, orgonic, etc., aspects because this would be a breakthrough. We would like to emphasize approaches that incorporate radionic resonance theory, using elements from alternative science and alternative medicine.

How much do you think it would cost to create this center?
We have done a substantial amount of research in the last year or two to validate the costs involved. We have researched a potential breakdown of costs in Asia versus Europe, etc., in addition to prospecting for land and facilities that are established and could be converted. There is a wide variance based on the location of the center. We know that to properly set it up would require several million dollars, possibly on top of the land purchase obligations involved. We also have a certain preconceived ideal of the comfort of the patient rooms, which would impact the costs, although we would not sacrifice the whole project for minor adjustments that could be compensated at a later time.

Where do you think would be the best place to locate the center?
In a naturally beautiful place surrounded by as much green as possible, but it should not be inaccessible. People should be able to reach it easily, even if they are difficult to transport; it should not take five days and nights just to get to a place. No particular country stands out as the best home, but the people who would embrace this the most would probably be Americans or Europeans.

Could you see yourself teaming up with an established clinic doing a similar thing?
Yes, although some methods until they have been tested and seen how much is universally applicable – you simply cannot share these methods until you see how they work with everybody. This is not institutionalized medicine where you can standardize everything. If it's an administrative cooperation, yes. If it's a professional cooperation with people who sell drugs or something, I cannot do this, unless they simply take a percentage. I'm sure this place would become very famous in a short amount of time. People would tell their friends, and it would be well known in no time.

Any last comments?
This is a synthesized approach. It uses at least 20 methods, some of them very strong and efficient, everything from macrobiotic diet to orgonic treatment, and it would be truly fantastic to see it in action.

How soon would you like to see this center begin?
You know, I'd be so happy if someone would give us a place, and give us a try – 10 willing patients – and just see what happens. I think the information here is just so vast that miracles are possible.
